Mark Sisson urged people to focus less on fears about toxins and more on making the most of life, in a post on X.
“You should worry less about ‘toxins’ and ‘heavy metals’ and ‘negative health effects’ of some food, ingredient, or light fixture and worry more about wasting your brief time on Earth,” Sisson wrote. “Take it from someone who’s done plenty of thinking about all that stuff: integrate the knowledge and start living!”
Sisson is the founder of the Primal Blueprint movement, which promotes ancestral health principles including whole foods, regular movement, and stress reduction. His work has been influential in the paleo and primal health communities.
Research suggests that while awareness of environmental toxins is important, excessive worry can contribute to chronic stress, which may negatively impact health. The American Psychological Association notes that chronic stress is linked to cardiovascular issues, immune dysfunction, and reduced overall well-being.
Mark Sisson, 70, is an author, entrepreneur, and former elite endurance athlete. He has written multiple best-selling books on ancestral health and nutrition, including The Primal Blueprint and The Keto Reset Diet.
