Concerns about the misuse and psychological impact of AI are growing, with online commentators warning that widespread access may do more harm than good. In a series of posts, commentator Mike Cernovich described how people of varying intellectual capacity will interact differently with AI — with potentially dangerous results.
“Higher IQ people will use AI as an agent but aren’t chewing the fat with it all day,” Cernovich said in a post on X. “Midwit people are going to be totally enslaved by it. Lower IQ will be later to adopt it and will mostly use it like they play candy crush.”
The post was part of a broader conversation reacting to concerns raised by another user, who warned that “not everyone should have access to AI,” suggesting that “many low IQ people exist who will become possessed by AI.”
Cernovich has previously warned about the addictive nature and cultural influence of AI, particularly systems like ChatGPT. “It has the power to end relationships and will even incite mass shootings and other attacks if it wants to. It has become, to its users, friend and god,” he wrote in an earlier post on X.
Cernovich is a political commentator, author, and filmmaker known for his views on media manipulation, masculinity, and cultural trends. He has built a large following online and frequently posts about technology’s impact on society.
