Brandon Steiner: ‘It’s okay to lose, don’t lose the lesson”

Brandon Steiner, a sports marketing entrepreneur and motivational speaker, shared insights on personal growth and accountability in a recent LinkedIn post. Steiner encouraged readers to reflect on their failures with honesty and embrace self-improvement.

“You always have the excuses as to why you fail or fall,” Steiner posted on LinkedIn. “It’s always someone else’s fault, or ‘they had it in for me,’ the company is messed up or nobody knows what they are doing.

“But, more times than not the truth is your friend (even though it will piss you off first),” said Steiner. “Self-improvement and self-analysis is key. It’s okay to lose, don’t lose the lesson.”

He said he learned this lesson from his mom, who often reminded him not to dwell on excuses or blame others when things went wrong. Instead, she encouraged him to reflect on his own actions, identify what he could improve, and take responsibility for his growth.

Steiner is an entrepreneur who founded Steiner Sports in 1987, a company that became a major provider of sports marketing and memorabilia. He later founded The Steiner Agency and CollectibleXchange, businesses that focus on connecting athletes with businesses and providing a marketplace for collectors. Steiner has written several books, including The Business Playbook, You Gotta Have Balls, and Living on Purpose. He speaks publicly about his experiences in business and personal growth.
