Biohacker and Upgrade Labs founder Dave Asprey is calling attention to one of the most overlooked drivers of health: your thyroid.
In a LinkedIn post, Asprey shared five actionable tips for supporting thyroid health. The list starts with testing, and goes beyond basic nutrition to include environmental and nervous system factors.
“Get tested,” he writes. “Ask your doctor for a full hormone panel and get a trusted practitioner to interpret your numbers.”
Asprey also encourages cutting out refined omega-6 seed oils and replacing them with nutrient-dense fats like butter, coconut oil, and grass-fed beef tallow. Stress management, breathwork, and quality sleep also top his list.
“Your thyroid will work better when you sleep better,” he wrote, noting that sunlight exposure, cool bedroom temperatures, and reducing “junk light” are key to restorative rest.
Finally, he cautions against fluoride, which may interfere with thyroid function. His recommendation: filter your water to reduce exposure.
Asprey’s message is part of a broader theme in the resilience community—restoring hormone health isn’t about guesswork or gimmicks. It’s about data, fundamentals, and consistent self-care.
