Micha Kaufman: ‘We’re not losing our humanity, we’re rediscovering it’

Micha Kaufman is the co-founder and CEO of Fiverr, an online marketplace that connects freelancers with businesses. Under his leadership, Fiverr has become a key platform in the global gig economy, serving millions of users across 160+ countries.

Micha Kaufman, founder and CEO of Fiverr, says the rise of artificial intelligence represents an opportunity to become more human—not less.

“This is the most extraordinary time in history to be human,” Kaufman posted on X. “Yes, AI is doing things for us: fixing, accelerating, optimizing. And yes, some people are afraid, they worry we’re losing touch with the skills we once relied on. But why is that a bad thing?”

Kaufman argued that AI allows people to shed the repetitive and robotic aspects of their work, freeing them to focus on judgment, taste, and creativity. “Let’s be honest: a huge part of our workday has always been technical maintenance, like validating data in a spreadsheet, digging through search results, copy-pasting between tabs. Necessary, but not exactly human.”

With AI tools now capable of handling many of these tasks, he says, the future belongs to nonlinear thinking, imagination, and intuition.

“We’re not losing our humanity, we’re rediscovering it,” he wrote.
