Entrepreneur and futurist Peter Diamandis outlined several breakthroughs across science and technology—from curing blindness to the rise of robotaxis—but emphasized that perhaps the most significant development is the emergence of artificial intelligence systems functioning at a human-like 120 IQ.

“These systems are already as smart as the average human, and they’re improving at an exponential rate,” wrote Peter Diamandis in the article.

Diamandis framed the evolution of general-purpose AI not as a distant future concept, but as an unfolding reality with immediate consequences for business, education, and creativity. He predicted a coming wave of what he called “AI companions”—tools that enhance thinking, automate decision-making, and help people scale their ideas faster than ever before.

In the same post, he pointed to recent medical breakthroughs including CRISPR-based therapies to restore sight, and the rollout of fully autonomous robotaxis in major U.S. cities, all signaling that exponential technologies are now deeply embedded in daily life.
